The Conservatorium Hotel

Het werd natuurlijk tijd dat ik het Conservatorium Hotel ging bezoeken. Dus zocht ik een gelegenheid om iets te vieren en bezocht ik vanavond het hotel om te eten, te drinken, te kijken en natuurlijk te fotograferen. Ik vond het mooi. Ik vond dat Piero Lissoni zijn taak om het hotel de huiskamer van de buurt te maken goed had volbracht. Daarnaast waren de gimmicks hier en daar leuk. Kleine onverwachte details, zoals de manier waarop de spiegels in het toilet zijn opgehangen. Het monumentale pand doet de rest natuurlijk. De ongedwongen, relaxte sfeer zijn de usp’s van dit hotel. Ik hoop dat dit  hotel een lang en gelukkig leven voor zich heeft, ook als de hipsters van Amsterdam het allang weer zijn vergeten.

It was obviously time that I visited the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam. So I sought an opportunity to celebrate something tonight and I visited the hotel to eat, drink, watch and of course to take pictures and capture a story for this Blog. I liked it. I think Piero Lissoni his job to create the living room of Amsterdam South is accomplished. In addition, the gimmicks here and there are funny. Small unexpected details, like the way the mirrors are suspended in the toilet. The monumental building does the rest of course. The casual, relaxed atmosphere are the USPs’ of this hotel. I hope this hotel has a long and happy life ahead, even if the hipsters of Amsterdam have put this hotel on the C-list.
