Hey Stockholm!

It had to be Stockholm! I had never been in Scandinavia and I thought it was time to visit this city as big (interior) design addict. How lucky that the weather last weekend was good (the temperatures were not above 20 degrees but it was dry and sunny ;)

We started the first day in SoFo, the bohemian area of Stockholm. I wasn’t hooked to start with, but after having discovered the right streets; Södermannagatan, Åsögatan, Skånegatan I also found the nice shops such as Konstig, Appartement, Grandpa, Nudie Flagship Store and others. There are also nice small coffeebars, lunchplaces en restaurants to be found. We had dinner in Sjogras a place with solely locals and good food! The sculpture of the mother with her child above, is really THE mark for Stockholm in my opinion. Mothers, fathers and kids everywhere, exactly what the Swedes are well known of.

Day 2 Stockholm: Östermalm, the upmarket area with the bigger well known shops such as Acne, Filippa K, Urban Outfitters, nice small shopping centers such as Mood

The book that has been determinative for my career....

In the afternoon of day 2 we went to Gamla Stan the old town of Stockholm. Quite touristic but pretty as well and nice small shops and pittoresk streets.

Dinner on Saturday night was in Story Hotel a must be if you ask me. I wish we stayed there, so next time definitely. Story Hotel has a popular bar as well with a DJ on Saturday night. A place with a feel good factor!

For art visit the Moderna museet in Skeppsholmen.

At last: Shopping! Not too much due to the high prices ;) but you can't leave Stockholm without some good Swedish designer clothes or products (or both)

Last but not least, the trends I discovered: the Stockholm inhabitants have been solely responsible for saving Converse from bankruptcy. They are very healthy, slim, good looking people who seem to live a decent, sober but happy life. I like it and lots of inspirations for my concepts.
